Dan Clearfield and Shamik Patel
Dan Clearfield, DO and Shamik Patel, DO (fellows at Overlook Hospital/Sports Extra in Summit NJ) with Program Director, Michele Gilsenan, DO FAOASM provide medical coverage at the annual ING RUN AGAINST OBESITY at Westfiled, NJ early May 2011. Drs Clearfield and Patel provided all coverage for the run including educational counseling to the runners on the moring of the run.
In addition, the doctors are providing medical coverage for the NCAA Division III Men's Baseball Regional Championships taking place in Lakewood, NJ the week of May 18-May 21. They are the team doctors for the host team, Kean University.
Patrick Leary
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine presented a $7500 check to the Mercyhurst College Athletic Department for the Athletic Graduate Assistant Program. As part LECOM’s commitment to improving sports performance and injury prevention, LECOM Sports Medicine has partnered as team physicians for Mercyhurst College Athletic teams and as faculty for sports medicine courses. LECOM Sports Medicine director Patrick F. Leary, D.O. presented the scholarship donation to Mercyhurst Athletic Director Joe Kimball and Mary Ann Love prior to the March 26 Erie BayHawks game. This is the first of a five year commitment which will provide scholarship funds for the LECOM- Mercyhurst Athletic Training Graduate Assistant Program. LECOM is presenting sponsor of the Erie BayHawks NBA Development League team.
