Call for Research Abstracts and Case Presentations

The AOASM Program Committee invites you to share your knowledge, research and/or experience by submitting a Research Abstract or Case Presentation. Research Abstracts and Case Presentations must be submitted no later than 5:00 pm CST on January 15, 2010. Submission forms and instructions will be posted online later in 2009. (Please also see the section below on Student Scholarships.)

After we receive your submission, your Case Presentation or Research Abstract will be passed along for a blind review. When the reviews are complete, we will notify you of the status for your submission. Your submission may be accepted for either podium presentation or poster presentation. Notification letters will state which presentation format you have been chosen for. Please contact Valerie Manogue, AOASM Meeting Planner, at 608-443-2477 or via email at vmanogue@reesgroupinc.com with any questions you may have.

Career Fair

Join us for the AOASM’s 3rd Annual Career Fair which will be held in the Exhibit Hall during the Clinical Conference. This will be an excellent way for students, residents, fellows and potential employers to meet and discuss employment and resident positions. Employers will have the opportunity to place an ad to be displayed on the AOASM website and at the conference. Job seekers will have the opportunity to submit and/or display their Curriculum Vitae during the conference as well.

Educational Credits

AOA Credits
This program anticipates being approved for AOA Category 1-A CME credits pending notification and review by the AOA CCME. The exact number of credits will be determined in early 2009.

BOC Credits
The American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education of certified athletic trainers. This program anticipates being approved for BOC credits. The exact number of credits will be determined in early 2009.

Physical Therapy Credits
Continuing education (CE) requirements for physical therapists vary from state to state. Most states that mandate CE for renewal of licensure have a process in place where an individual PT/PTA licensee may petition directly to the state licensing agency for acceptance of a continuing education course. Check with your state licensing board for the proper procedures and forms.
