2021 AOASM Annual Clinical Conference Is Virtual! April 30 - May 2, 2021
While we miss seeing AOASM friends and family in person, the Board of Directors realizes that is not yet safe to gather together. The 2021 Annual Clinical Conference will be held virtually April 30 through May 2nd. Join your colleagues and earn continuing medical education in an event where you can expand your content knowledge, enhance your clinical skills, and participate in organized virtual social events.
Please Note: Registration to attend the LIVE Virtual CME Conference is only available between now and until Sunday, May 2 until 12:00 noon CST. If you’re planning to attend Sunday sessions, please be sure to register by 12:00 noon CST or sooner to guarantee a registration spot for the virtual conference.
Reminder: If you register by April 9, 2021, you will receive the Early Bird pricing. (For conference registration fees, please scroll below.)
Registration Fee Includes:
- Attendee will receive a personalized link within 24-hours of the conference starting to participate in the Virtual Program throughout the 3-day program. (This link is unique to each participant.)
- Speaker slides and lecture recordings will be available for the remainder of 2021! (Pending the permission from each of our 2021 AOASM speakers.)
- Access to attend the Virtual Welcome Reception via ZOOM on Friday, April 30, 8 p.m. CT.
- Attendees may earn up to 13.25 hours of Category 1-A CME credits (approval by the AOA is pending).

AOASM 2021 Registration Fees
Cancellations Conference registration cancellations will be accepted in writing only.
There will be a $50 administrative fee for cancellation requests received by 5:00 pm Central Time on Friday, April 16, 2021. No refunds will be given for any requests received after Friday, April 16. All refunds will be processed no later than May 31, 2021. Walk-ins and replacements are always welcome. Don’t Miss the 2021 Memorial Featured Lectures Russell M. Wright
Dr. Wright was a founding member of AOASM, and left a legacy of courage, commitment, inquisitiveness, caring, honor, and mentorship. The Rusty M. Wright Memorial Lecture is held annually to remind us of our osteopathic beginnings and challenge us to live up to the standards set by our Sports Medicine pioneers.

This year’s featured keynote speaker is: Dr. Jonathan Finnoff Friday, April 30 3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. CT USOPC Response to COVID-19 and Tokyo 2020 Preparations
Jonathan Finnoff, DO, FACSM, FAMSSM, RMSK is the Chief Medical Officer for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and a professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minn. Dr. Finnoff is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Sports Medicine. To read more, click here.
Allen Jacobs The Allen Jacobs Memorial Lecture has been held since 2003 to help us remember his love of anatomy, teaching and osteopathic medicine.

This year’s featured memorial lecturer is: Dr. Albert Kozar Friday, April 30 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. CT The Posterior Trigger Point
Dr. Kozar is board certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine (NMM-OMM), sports medicine and family medicine, and was conferred a Fellow of American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine in 2009. He spends 60% of his time practicing neuromusculoskeletal medicine exclusively, with a 50-50 mix of sports medicine and acute and chronic pain management. In addition, he is a registered musculoskeletal sonographer.
In his academic role, he serves as VCOM’s Program Director for their NMM-OMM “Plus-One” Residency & Integrated NMM-OMM / Sports Medicine Residency, where he is also an Associate Professor, OMM & Sports Medicine and teaches in the PPC-OMM course for students. To read more, click here.
Learner Objectives At the conclusion of the conference, the participant will be able to:
- Develop and understand an appreciation for the importance of the osteopathic principles for treatment in the field of sports medicine
- Develop and understand the impact of mental health disorders in a variety of athletes.
- Develop an appreciation for musculoskeletal injuries in pediatric athletes.
- Understand the role of technology has in performance of everyday patients as well as elite athletes.
- Explain the unique difficulties associated with managing sports coverage during a pandemic.
Conference Educational Credits AOA Credits
AOASM have requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve the LIVE AOASM 2021 Virtual Conference program up to 13.25 hours of AOA Category 1-A CME credits. Register for continuing education credits by checking ALL of the applicable boxes on the registration link (or pdf form). Registered attendees will receive a credit reporting form electronically following the AOASM Virtual Conference. Attendees will be responsible for completing the online link by the required deadline. Fellowship Directors Calling all Fellowships! We will be hosting our annual fellowship fair Saturday May 1st, 2021 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. CST. This is a great opportunity to interact with residents and students who are very interested in your Sports Medicine Fellowship program. The residents and students will have the opportunity to virtually come to your booth via the Gather.Town platform to ask further questions about your program.
