The last topic for our performance athlete theme for February is a "Play Them or Sit Them" case scenario! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

A male dancer presents to your clinic with 3 days of abdominal pain. He has an upcoming showcase tomorrow and was told a few weeks ago that his abs were “subpar” for the performance. Since receiving this criticism, he has been engaging in vigorous ab exercises multiple times per day every day. His abdomen is diffusely tender to palpation and pain increases with back extension. He notes his urine has also become darker than usual, almost tea-colored.

What possible diagnosis concerns you? Do you allow him to perform in tomorrow’s showcase?
