President's Council on Sports, Fitness, & Nutrition Announces Opportunity to Collaborate on National Youth Sports Initiative
Deadline: June 20, 2019, 5:00 p.m.
"The President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition (PCSFN) issued a Federal Register Notice seeking non-Federal public and private sector organizations and entities who wish to collaborate on the National Youth Sports Initiative.
"Do you or your organization have planned or existing programs, activations, campaigns, or other activities, that elevate the benefits and importance of youth sports and give kids of all backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to play?
"Tell us how we can work together and ensure all kids experience the positive benefits of youth sports participation!
"PCSFN is developing a National Youth Sports Initiative (NYSI) to:
1. Elevate the benefits and importance of youth sports participation, and
2. Increase participation among youth with below-average sports participation, including girls, youth with a disability, youth from racial and ethnic backgrounds, and those in communities with limited access to athletic facilities or recreational areas.
"PCSFN invites you to submit a proposal to collaborate on the NYSI. NYSI collaboration projects will involve executing a singular or series of programs, activations, campaigns and/or other activities that elevate the benefits and importance of youth sports participation and increase sports participation among girls, youth from racial and ethnic backgrounds, and/or youth with a disability.
"Instructions: You may submit a NYSI collaboration proposal by emailing email@example.com. Please indicate the organization name and title of the proposed NYSI project in the subject line of the email. For example, “Name of Organization – Title of NYSI Project.” If your organization wishes to submit more than one proposal, please include each proposal as a separate attachment within the same email.
"PCSFN will accept proposals until 5:00 PM E.T. on June 20, 2019.
"Requirements of the Collaboration: Organizations must be capable of managing the development and execution of youth sports programs, activations, and/or other activities (such as awareness campaigns), and identifying ways to enhance activities and participation. Approved proposals will require a co-sponsorship signed by both participants that outlines the terms and parameters of the agreement. The co-sponsorship will be in place for a period of one year from the date at which it bears all parties' signatures.
"NYSI Projects: Proposed NYSI projects will develop and implement sport-focused programming, activations, campaigns and/or other activities that are evidence-based and result in sustainable strategies that encourage and engage youth in a range of physical activity through sports participation before, during or after the school day. Upon signing the above referenced co-sponsorship, the Office of the PCSFN will grant collaborating organizations the use of its logo and NYSI-branded materials to promote the project, and will highlight the NYSI project via its digital and social media platforms, as deemed appropriate.
"NYSI Collaboration Proposal: Each proposal should contain a description of: (1) The organization or entity; (2) its background in managing the development and execution of fun and engaging youth sports programs, activations and/or other activities related to promoting the benefits and importance of youth sports participation; (3) its proposed involvement in the NYSI project; and (4) the proposed project implementation plan with a timeline.
"View the Federal Register Notice for more information about the opportunity to collaborate on the NYSI, including eligibility and evaluation criteria."
