2021 Silent Auction at the Red Carpet Event to benefit Team Vienna 4 SUDC Awareness Inc. (501c3 nonprofit)

Dear Sports Medicine Family,

I am writing to you to request sports item donations for a special silent auction to benefit Team Vienna 4 SUDC Awareness, Inc (501c3 nonprofit). This touching Red Carpet Event was presented to me by the Program Chair, Dr. Becca Rodriguez Regner, who is organizing this year’s Annual Conference in Anaheim, April 28-May 1, 2021. It touched my heart deeply that she wanted to do an event like this. The silent auction will take place during the Conference.

If you have a special (packable) sports item that is valued at $50 USD or more, please let us know so we can count on you bringing it to Anaheim or having it shipped to the following contact by March 1, 2021:

AOASMSilent Auction
2424 American Lane
Madison, WI 53704

The goal is to have 10 items. Possible ideas could be a signed ball by a collegiate or pro sports team, special signed jersey, poster, Olympic gear, WWE wrestling items, items signed by well-known athletes, etc.

Team Vienna is my family’s nonprofit whose mission is to increase SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) awareness/education and research support, while honoring my sweet daughter, Vienna. Vienna was 2.8 years old and healthy when she fell asleep while watching TV at home in Holmdel, New Jersey, on Nov 12, 2017, and tragically never woke up. Her death was categorized as SUDC, which is given to a toddler/adolescent/teenager age 1-18 years old, whose death is still unexplained after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy, medical record review, and death scene investigation. Shockingly, my husband (also a physician) and I had never heard of SUDC until it happened to us. We enrolled Vienna (donating her) and ourselves (our blood) in a research study at NYU in collaboration with Columbia University and the Mayo Clinic, and to date, no cause has been identified for her death. Even her genetic studies did not reveal a cause. Please see for more info.

Here is the link to view my TED-style talk from OMED on October, 27, 2019, in Baltimore, entitled: Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC): My Personal Story of Loss.

Please contact me or AOASM with donated items. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you so much for your incredible support of Team Vienna and my family. As a team, we can make a difference so ultimately other families will be spared my personal tragedy. I look forward to thanking you in person in Anaheim.

Heartbroken but surviving,
